Synthetic Medicinal Chemist – Scientist (Job Code SMC_112016):
HBRI currently has an opening for a Synthetic Medicinal Chemist. An advanced position to enhance the professional development of the scientist; help design and conduct a research program within the area of active research of Senior or Staff Scientist; help establish scientific direction of program; perform laboratory and investigative research work as directed by Staff Scientist or Principal Investigator with little or no supervision; maintain laboratory equipment and facilities; supervise other lab personnel, including post-doctoral researchers and interns; provide new research or managerial expertise to research program; write, prepare, and coordinate the submission of scientific manuscripts and grant applications; and provide scientific leadership within field of expertise. The position entails the synthesis and evaluation of novel cancer, stem cell, and other agents. A Ph.D., or equivalent from an accredited institution, completion of professional training with 3 or more years of professional post-doctoral training, and ability to undertake independent research with little or no supervision is REQUIRED 1-3 years relevant research experience at Research Scientist level is a plus. Research experience in the synthesis and characterization of pharmacologically active compounds REQUIRED. Medicinal and/or Stem Cell chemistry experience is a plus. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Applicants must currently reside in San Diego county.

HBRI currently has an opening for a Synthetic/Bioorganic Chemist Postdoc. Receive training that enhances the individual’s professional development and future formation of his/her own career. Help design and conduct a research project within the area of active research of the Institute. This position entails the synthesis and evaluation of novel cancer, stem cell, and other agents. A Ph.D. or equivalent in related field from an accredited institution and 0-2 years of professional post-doctoral training is REQUIRED. Research experience in the synthesis and characterization of pharmacologically active compounds a plus. Medicinal and/or Stem Cell chemistry experience is a plus. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Applicants must currently reside in San Diego county.
